Band

Music has been another important way for me to explore creativity and collaboration. During high school, I founded a jazz band and performed as the lead electric guitarist. What began as a small group of students sharing an interest in music gradually became a space for experimentation, improvisation, and collective expression.

Playing in a band is very different from creating something alone. Each rehearsal and performance requires listening as much as playing — responding to the rhythm of others, adjusting to unexpected changes, and allowing individual ideas to blend into a shared sound. In these moments, music becomes less about technical skill and more about communication.

Through this experience, I began to see music as another language for expression, one that exists alongside visual art and photography. Improvisation, especially in jazz, encourages a kind of openness: the willingness to explore ideas without knowing exactly where they will lead. This process of exploration continues to shape how I approach creativity in many forms.
